When Logic Prevails « Result #1 on Mar 11, 2009, 11:42pm »
Two nuns went out of their convent for a walk. One of them is known as Sister Mathematical (SM) and the other one is known as Sister Logical (SL). It was getting dark and they were still far away from the convent.
SL: Have you noticed that a man has been following us for the past half-hour?
SM: Yes, I wonder what he wants.
SL: It's logical. He wants to rape us.
SM: Oh, no! At this rate he will reach us in 15 minutes at the most. What can we do?
SL: The only logical thing to do of course is to walk faster.
SM: It's not working.
SL: Of course it's not working. The man did the only logical thing. He started to walk faster too.
SM: So, what shall we do? At this rate he will reach us in one minute.
SL: The only logical thing we can do is split. You go that way and I'll go this way. He cannot follows us both. So the man decided to follow Sister Logical.
Sister Mathematical arrives at the convent and is worried what has happened to Sister Logical. Then Sister Logical arrives.
SM: Sister Logical! Thank God you are here! Tell me what happened!
SL: The only logical thing happened. The man couldn't follow us both, so he followed me.
SM: Yes, yes! But what happened then?
SL: The only logical thing happened. I started to run as fast as I could and he started to run as fast as he could.
SM: And?
SL: The only logical thing happened. He reached me.
SM: Oh, dear! What did you do?
SL: The only logical thing to do. I lifted my dress up.
SM: Oh, Sister! What did the man do?
SL: The only logical thing to do. He pulled down his pants.
SM: Oh, no! What happened then?
SL: Isn't it logical, Sister? A nun with her dress up can run faster than a man with his pants down........
¡¡¡¡My husband asked me to go to the post office to mail his resume in anticipation of a job interview. He instructed me to send it the fastest way possible.
¡¡¡¡Struck by the urgency in his voice, I grabbed a handful of change and dashed out the door. Arriving at the post office, I rushed to the counter and breathlessly explained to the clerk that my envelope had to be delivered immediately . He casually weighed the envelope and said it would cost $ 10.03.I fumbled through my pockets and tallied up my coins. "But I don't have $ 10. 03, " I said. He punched some more buttons and said, "Okay, that will be $ 7. 40, ma am.
¡¡¡¡Once more I said in dismay, "Sorry, I don't have $ 7.40.
¡¡¡¡"Well," he sighed, "exactly how much do you have?"
¡¡¡¡I meekly answered, "I have exactly $ 2. 15, sir."
¡¡¡¡With that, he yelled over his shoulder to a coworker, "Hey, Charlie, get the pigeon ready.

Italian Virgin « Result #4 on Mar 11, 2009, 11:41pm »
Maria just got married and being a traditional Italian she was still a virgin and very inexperienced around men. So, on her wedding night, while staying at her mother's house, she was nervous. But her mother reassured her. Don't worry Maria,' says the mother. 'Tony's a good man. Go upstairs and he'll take care of you.'
So up she went. When she got upstairs, Tony took off his shirt and exposed his hairy chest. Maria ran downstairs to her mother and says, 'Mama, Mama, Tony's got a big hairy chest.' 'Don't worry, Maria,' says his mother. 'All good men have hairy chests. Go upstairs. He'll take good care of you.'
So up she went again. When she got up in the bedroom, Tony took off his pants exposing his hairy legs. Again Maria ran downstairs to her mother. 'Mama, Mama, Tony took off his pants and he's got hairy legs.' 'Don't worry Maria. All good men have hairy legs. Tony's a good man. Go upstairs and he'll take good care of you.
'So, up she went again. When she got up there, Tony took off his socks, and on his left foot he was missing the better part of three toes. When Maria saw this, she ran downstairs.
Class Reunion « Result #5 on Feb 23, 2009, 10:44pm »
I was minding my own business a few weeks ago when I got ¡°the call¡± -- that dreaded, shrill ringing of my telephone bearing news just short of a death in the family. It was a former high school classmate asking my assistance in our 20-year class reunion.
Could it be 20 years already? I shuddered. Cold chills went up and down my spine as tiny beads of sweat popped out on my forehead. What had I done with my life the past 20 years? My mother told me I¡¯d have to deal with this some day,wow power leveling but I had laughed it off, just like I laughed off those embarrassing pink plastic curlers she used to wear in her hair. (I picked up a set at a garage sale just last week. Got a great deal on them, too!)
It¡¯s amazing how a brief phone call can totally turn one¡¯s life upside down. Suddenly, I began hearing those 1970s songs (now known as ¡°oldies¡±) in a different arrangement, realizing that Mick Jagger was over 50, ¡°Smoke on the Water¡± never did make any sense at all, and my ¡°Seasons in the Sun¡± had literally faded into oblivion. Had the sun set on me already?
I glanced in the mirror.wow power leveling (Okay, I stared in the damned mirror.) I examined every tiny little crevice and pore, starting with my hairline, down past those patronizing ¡°smile lines¡± to the base of my neck. No double chin yet, I thought.
The next few weeks were pure hell. Each day began with a grueling training program -- a 6:30 a.m. run in a futile attempt to bounce off that unsightly baggage that had somehow accumulated on my thighs overnight. I went shopping for the perfect dress -- you know, the one that would make me look 20 years younger. I found out that they stopped selling them around 1975. Three dresses later, I came to my senses.wow power leveling There was only one logical explanation: I was having a mid-life crisis.
I realized that the funny, crunching noise I heard each night as I climbed the stairs was really my knees. I had seriously considered adding potty training to my resume as one of my greatest accomplishments. Bran flakes had become a part of my daily routine -- and not because they were my favorite cereal.wow gold I held Tupperware parties just so I could count how many friends I had.
Life just hadn¡¯t turned out the way I¡¯d planned. Sure, I was happy. I had a wonderful husband and two great kids in the center of my life. But somehow, working part-time as a secretary and mom hardly fit my definition of someone my classmates had voted as wow gold¡°most likely to succeed.¡± Had I really wasted 20 years?
Just about the time I was ready to throw in the towel and my invitation, my seven-year old tapped me on the shoulder. ¡°I love you, Mom. Give me a kiss.¡±
You know, wow gold I¡¯m actually looking forward to the next 20 years.
True Forgiveness « Result #6 on Feb 23, 2009, 10:43pm »
Forty-three years seems like a long time to remember the name of a mere acquaintance. I have duly forgotten the name of an old lady who was a customer on my paper route when I was a twelve-year-old boy in Marinette, Wisconsin back in 1954. wow power leveling Yet it seems like just yesterday that she taught me a lesson in forgiveness that I can only hope to pass on to someone else someday.
On a mindless Saturday afternoon, wow gold, a friend and I were throwing rocks onto the roof of the old lady¡¯s house from a secluded spot in her backyard. The object of our play was to observe how the rocks changed to missiles as they rolled to the roof¡¯s edge and shot out into the yard like comets falling from the sky.
I found myself a perfectly smooth rock and sent it for a ride. The stone was too smooth, however, so it slipped from my hand as I let it go and headed straight for a small window on the old lady¡¯s back porch. At the sound of fractured glass, wow power leveling we took off from the old lady¡¯s yard faster than any of our missiles flew off her roof.
I was too scared about getting caught that first night to be concerned about the old lady with the broken porch window. However, a few days later, when I was sure that I hadn¡¯t been discovered, I started to feel guilty for her misfortune. She still greeted me with a smile each day when I gave her the paper, but I was no longer able to act comfortable in her presence.
I made up my mind that I would save my paper delivery money, and in three weeks I had the seven dollars that I calculated would cover the cost of her window.wow power leveling I put the money in an envelope with a note explaining that I was sorry for breaking her window and hoped that the seven dollars would cover the cost for repairing it.
I waited until it was dark, snuck up to the old lady¡¯s house, and put the envelope of retribution through the letter slot in her door. My soul felt redeemed and I couldn¡¯t wait for the freedom of, once again, looking straight into the old lady¡¯s eyes.
The next day, wow gold I handed the old lady her paper and was able to return the warm smile that I was receiving from her. She thanked me for the paper and said, ¡°Here, I have something for you.¡± It was a bag of cookies. I thanked her and proceeded to eat the cookies as I continued my route.
After several cookies, wow gold I felt an envelope and pulled it out of the bag. When I opened the envelope, I was stunned. Inside was the seven dollars and a short note that said, ¡°I¡¯m proud of you.¡±

I am just glad people are safer this hurricane season than 3 years ago- Katrina and Rita made a huge mess and caused alot of deaths. But this season has been bad for my family and my memories. I was born and raised in Houston- the apartment my folks lived in when I was born is gone, and the hospital is pretty torn up. It's sad for me, but heartbreaking for those living it. My aunt and uncle lost their home, as did my aunts parents, and one of their daughter's.
And I do hope you find your muse, we need all the loyal posters we can get here!

Yeah, it has been a crazy hurricane season so far this year, and we still have until the end of November before it is considered officially 'over'.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing ok.
As for myself.... my muse has flown south. I'm trying to catch it, but it is taking some time. There are days when I don't even turn the computer on. See you guys soon and everyone take care.
Come to me, clouds. May you rise as an evil storm born to rip them open. Let the cover of night bear witness and destroy those who resist so they shall harm me not. Let the blood of many cleanse me, preserving beauty eternal. I pray you.

Judith has written to me once again. She and Terry want to come for a visit and do some wedding planning. She and Terry want to have the wedding and reception at Malvoisin- specifically in the Black Hall. She hopes to be here in a few weeks- I hope I can find somewhere to put my beautiful home before she gets here, or we will be staying in the inn in town!
I am anxiously awaiting the term to start so that I may begin working soon. I am anxious to meet my students and get to work! I do not like being so idle on a regular basis.

“Absinthe if you have it, over ice, and please do not dilute it; I prefer it taken neat.” Cocking his head very slightly to the side the wizard watched attentively her motions and subdued cues. Even the vampiress could not hide her ardent distrust. He could smell it in her. His eyes traced the outline of the centuries old parlor. Vampires inhabited an interesting role in the realms of the magical. Their origin and the source of their powers was a coveted secret among their societies. A history Agmar imagined as old as wizards and witches themselves, completely shrouded in secrecy. The spell caster was intrigued to say the least. However, the scholar in him did not bring the dark wizard to the antiquarian stronghold. Nor had any rational train of thought lead him into the depths of the forest and into the lair of the Lady.
“You know you aren’t the first I have entitled as such. I remember only vaguely another, a haggard woman that came to me in the tropics of Haiti. She told me of the monstrous things I would do and the dark motives that drove me. I believe she saw into my soul. She revealed before I was ruined in body and eventually in mind what predestination marked my birth. I knew my fate and foresaw my destruction. It was part of a greater whole but it’s lost to me. Everything is lost. The seer is perished and my fate no more.” He paused, very slowly returning his gaze to hers.
“There is something here that I am missing, that I must see, a piece of that whole. I do not know what it is but I know that it resides in this place. Something forgotten or discarded that I must see or touch. More than this I do not know.” From somewhere without the house came a stirring. Agmar briefly eyed the doorway before returning to Lady Hamilton.

Bloody Hurricanes « Result #16 on Aug 17, 2008, 8:41am »
So, just a head's up to everyone. Tropical Storm Fay is predicted to hit Fort Myers Florida, or pretty close to it. If it hits here, it will be on Monday night and into Tuesday. The last time we were hit with a hurricane (Wilma) in Fort Myers, I was without power for almost a week. And when Hurricane Charley rolled through 4 years ago, it was the same. Today and tomorrow, I will be securing things around my house (Even though I don't have too much to do at my house), and helping my father get his house ready as well.
Monday is the first day of school for my daughter, and I'll be working with my father and mother once again to get their house ready. So basically, the next few days will be very hectic and it is quite possible that I could lose power. If you don't see me, this is the reason why. We are already under a Hurricane Watch and it will likly be upgraded to a Hurricane Warning tomorrow.
During the next couple of days, I'll be popping on and off the site, but I don't think I'll be posting. My mind is concerned with upcoming events. If I don't come for a few days, it means I have no power. So everyone take care of yourselves. -Hugs-
Come to me, clouds. May you rise as an evil storm born to rip them open. Let the cover of night bear witness and destroy those who resist so they shall harm me not. Let the blood of many cleanse me, preserving beauty eternal. I pray you.

I have read that the reason the final movie is going to be in two parts is because they are going to follow the book to the letter, so that is going to be a very long movie. Warner Bros. isn't going to cut up the book to only cover important aspects. It is a very important book, and the movie will be just as important. It is, after all, the last Harry Potter book that JKR will do.
Just like The Lord Of The Rings was one book, but split into three separate movies to stay true to the book. So The Deathly Hollows will be the same. I know that will be a long wait as well, but well worth it.

Well, that is terribly depressing!!!! I have a husband who watches junk, and a three year old- can you guess who's gonna be seeing HSM3 in October? I was really looking forward to this, but I kinda understand business-wise why they did this.
And, I get how long the 7th is gonna be, but 2 parts? I know we all know what happens,...but isn't this still just mean?
